The Vigilante name is rooted in Missoula’s rich local history. The original mini storage location was established on Mullan Road, a site historically known for the trials and hangings of outlaws, often referred to as Road Agents, who were responsible for stagecoach and miner robberies in the late 1800s. In response to lawlessness in the region, a group of local citizens formed a secret organization known as the Vigilantes, working to restore safety, order, and justice throughout the Missoula Valley and the greater Montana Territory.
